Long before C.S. Lewis took us through the wardrobe and into the magical world of Narnia, he and his older brother Warnie created another fantastical land and named it Boxen. Amazingly, C.S. (or “Jack,” as his family and friends called him) first shared the tales of “Animal-land” with Warnie when Jack was just 8 years old, and in the years that followed, the siblings chronicled its history, geography and adventures of its inhabitants in great detail. For the first time, all of the Boxen stories—some never before seen—are brought together in a charmingly illustrated collection that will transport fans of one of the most extraordinary storytellers of our age into a fantasy land that is every bit as captivating as Narnia.

Interesting to read if you are a C.S. Lewis fan. Considering his (and his brother's) age, it is a fairly impressive collection of work. They show the promise of future development, but it is not a consistently fun read. If you are looking for thoughtful entertainment, stick to "Narnia" or the "Out of the Silent Planet" trilogy.
