Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy with the most talked about book of the year! And Another Thing… is the sixth volume in Douglas Adams’ legendary “trilogy,” written by the fiendishly clever Eoin Colfer, author of the bestselling Artemis Fowl series.
Adams’ first five novels traced the madcap adventures of earthling Arthur Dent and his alien sidekick, Ford Prefect, after earth is destroyed to make way for a hyperspatial bypass. Joined by a cast of zany and lovable characters, they fight loathsome invaders, deal with killer robots…and search the universe for a really good cup of tea.
We can’t tell you much about book six, but don’t panic—Adams’ widow, Jane Belson, feels Eoin Colfer is the perfect writer to continue her husband’s legacy. Having fallen in love with the series as a teen, Colfer was honored and thrilled when he was approached to pen book six. And he is “bloody determined that this will be the best thing [he's] ever written.”
For more than 40 years, you’ve followed Arthur and all his friends from radio play to TV, comics, film, even iPhone applications. Now get ready for another screamingly wild ride through the galaxy with And Another Thing….

So I just didn't get into this book that much..... Its a 2.5 Star book... It felt like Douglas Adam's characters without any of Douglas Adam's voice.... It wasn't until 2/3 to 3/4 of the way into the book where I felt it finally got a bit good.... But then the ending really wasn't that good at all.

It depends heavily on dropping references to Adam's work. With inconsistencies, at least to my understanding. But entertaining anyway and the best fans are likely to get or would be likely to get even if Adams was alive. Be honest. The books kept getting worse. I told a friend, "I think this might be as good as 'Life, the Universe and Everything', but I definitely think they got worse after...so this is as good, at least as Adams' last books."

Taking the book on it's own merit (pretending I haven't listened to the Radio show, seen the BBC Series, seen the movie orread everything written by Douglas Adams), it's a 4 star book. Not bad.
As a continuation of the series, it's a 2 star FanFic. I've read much better.

Big enough to handle other writers continuing on with Adams' vision. This is the first and, while it's in now way Douglas Adams, it's not a bad start. Room for improvement? Yes. Terrible. No...but different. It, for my money, is better than Adams' own finale "Mostly Harmless". The best advice I can give to "Hitchhikers" fans is to try it for yourself and see.
