Victorian supernatural fantasy has never been funnier or more fashionable than in the hands of Gail Carriger. Now her New York Times bestselling steampunk series comes to a smashing conclusion in our exclusive hardcover omnibus, The Parasol Protectorate Volume 2.
Heartless: A mad ghost is menacing Queen Victoria, and as the soulless Lady Alexia investigates, she and her trusty parasol are led deep into her were husband’s past. Top that off with a suffragette sister (shocking!), Madame Lefoux’s latest invention (incredible!), and a plague of zombie porcupines (bloody hell!), and Alexia barely has time to remember she’s eight months pregnant! Can she learn who’s trying to kill the queen before time runs out?
Timeless: Alexia has settled into domestic bliss, but, alas, a summons has arrived that cannot be ignored. With husband, child, and Ivy Tunstell’s acting troupe in tow, Alexia boards a steamer to Egypt. But the Land of the Nile may hold more mysteries than the indomitable Lady Maccon can handle. What does Alexandria’s vampire Queen really want from her? Why is the God-Breaker Plague suddenly expanding? And how has Ivy become the most popular actress in the British Empire?

These books are addictive! Each one is better than the last and I love having the books compiled in a hard cover edition. I was eagerly waiting for Timeless to come out and Ms. Carriger did not disappoint! Just as with the others, I was sad to see the book end because it is like catching up with the adventures of a good friend. These books have humor, mystery, suspense and action. Pretty much perfect! A great read!

Please excuse the many misspellings & typos in my review. Typed too quick & didn't proofread. SORRY!

I enjoyed the omnibus of the two books. I would suggest others that read the first omnibus to read this one because it is a good continuation of the story line. My one critism, as been mentioned by others is that this is supposed to finalize this series. With the way the story ended, I most sincerely do not feel it is a proper ending to this story. It left a lot of things plots hanging, even if they were fairly new ones that were presented in the so called "final" book of this series. It is definitely not a good finally book to wrap up the series with. Now, if the author intends instead to make a new series with Prudence and our new vampire queen (not telling who, you have to read the story to find out) then perhaps the final book will suffice, even though you just don't feel it is a proper ending to this series. The author needs to tell her readers if there is in fact a new series in the works about this storyline, just with the protagnists changed. That wuld go a long way on making me happier with the way this series ended.

Again you ask how the book was before it arrives. I got a notice it shipped two days ago and I have not seen it yet.

PP "...comes to a smashing conclusion..."?! You're kidding. I was looking forward to reading this and following up with several more in this series, and now it sounds like a premature death. Guess it's true, only the good die young.
