Bestselling author Charlaine Harris re-imagines the supernatural world with her Sookie Stackhouse novels—the inspiration for the hit HBO® series, True BloodSM. Now, for the first time, Harris gathers into one volume every short story she’s ever written about her telepathic waitress.
In “Fairy Dust,” fairy twins Claude and Claudine hire the feisty telepath to determine which one of three suspects killed their sister. It’s “Dracula Night”—the master vamp’s birthday—and Sookie is invited to the celebration…only the Dracula who shows up may not be the real thing. In “One Word Answer,” news of her cousin’s murder arrives with a lawyer who has an ulterior motive for his mission.
With a rabbit’s foot and well-cast spells, Sookie’s insurance agent keeps his clients “Lucky.” But his luck may run out unless Sookie and witch Amelia can catch whoever’s been prowling through his files. And in “Giftwrap,” it’s Christmas Eve; a lonely Sookie is feeling sorry for herself when a wounded werewolf gives her an unexpected present.
With notes on where they fall in the series’ timeline, these five tales shed light on little facets of Sookie’s life, making A Touch of Dead a welcome addition to the Stackhouse canon.

I liked this book becuase it put a lot of things in place, that were left out of the books.

After I read all of the books,I was happy to get this book. Though it satisfied because it was another Sookie Stackhouse book, there wasn't enough substance. Saying that, I was glad to get this to read after saying goodbye to the rest of the books. I hope Charlaine writes more and more!!!!!

This is a great book for filling in some of the blanks between the Sookie books. The only bad thing I could say about it is I think some of the stories could have been expanded upon. But, that said, I couldn't put it down and I am eagerly anticipating delivery of the next book in the series.

I hadn't read any Sookie Stackhouse books (gasp!) and wanted to see what all the fuss was about, so I thought this would be a great "taste" of Sookie. I loved these stories so much, I now plan to read the entire Stackhouse series and other books by Charlaine Harris. Caution - it's addictive!

A quick, pleasant visit to the world of True Blood.
Enjoyable quick reads, building on the world that was previously built, adding a bit more to the characters and world.
Really, Eric getting as excited as a little girl for the Jonas Brothers!
Definitely some humor in it, too.
Worth the time.
