Star Wars®: Death Troopers

Prepare yourself to venture someplace very new and very scary in a galaxy far, far away, with the release of Star Wars®: Death Troopers by Joe Schreiber—the first-ever Star Wars horror novel, featuring a special cover with a full-color poster printed on the reverse side!

From the first appearance of Darth Vader in the groundbreaking movie Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, Star Wars fans have known what terror feels like—and we loved it. But never before has Star Wars ventured into the unknown territory of true horror...until now.

When the Imperial prison barge Purge breaks down in a distant, uninhabited part of space, its only hope seems to lie with a Star Destroyer found drifting, derelict and seemingly abandoned. But when a boarding party is sent to scavenge for parts, only half of them come back—bringing with them a horrific disease so lethal that within hours, nearly all aboard the Purge will die. And death is only the beginning.

Nothing can prepare them for what awaits them aboard the Star Destroyer, amid its vast creaking emptiness that isn’t really empty at all. For the dead are rising, soulless, unstoppable and unspeakably hungry.

Heaven!

I must have died and gone to heaven. Zombies and Star Wars, 2 of my favorite genres! Overall the book is a very easy, and quick read. Not going to win any awards, but fun nevertheless. I was shocked Han Solo was in the book as it doesn't even mention his name on the jacket. I also went and found something else Schreiber wrote and he is a great writer outside of Lucas-World, check his books out.

A must read

This book is not what I expected it to be I mean a star wars horror book? After I stared reading and realized what it was I thought this is going to be horrible. But I am happy to say I was dead wrong. Joe Shcrieber is an amazing writer and I especially like the ending. I'm not going to spoil it but there is a very unpredictable surprise in here for you. And if you see a review by BOOOOO dont read it he is a spoiler and doesnt know what he is talking about.

I started reading the book and it was going along nicely when our favorite scoundrel and wookie appear. The tale was entertaining and dark enough to keep wanting to read on. A good stand alone novel hope to see more from this writer.

a fun read
March 10, 2010

I really enjoyed the story. I bought it looking for a Star Wars horror story and that's exactly what I got. I found most of the characters believable and came to care for the ones I was supposed to care for, so the author did a good job in that categroy. Like a horror movie, there were a few too many "Of course (this) happened to (this character)" moments (SLIGHT SPOLIER ALERT: Such as when, on multiple occasions, out of the tens of thousands of undead, our characters would come face to face with the one person they knew who had now been turned / END SPOILER ALERT. All in all, I found this to be a fun read and would recommend it to anyoen interested in Sci-fi horror.

Star Wars and zombies

The story has a good start, then introduces very special guest stars. It finishes like the author ran out of time on the deadline.
