Two years have passed since the death of Jacen Solo. For a grieving Han and Leia, Jacen’s own loving daughter, Allana, offers a ray of hope for the future. But when the inquisitive girl, in whom the Force grows ever stronger, makes a curious discovery aboard her grandfather’s beloved spacecraft—the much-overhauled but ever-dependable Millennium Falcon—the Solo family finds itself setting out on an odyssey into unexpected adventure.
To Han, who knows every bolt, weld and sensor of the Falcon, the strange device Allana shows him is utterly alien…and the girl’s desire to unravel its mystery is hard to resist. The only answer lies in a fact-finding expedition to retrace the checkered history of the vessel that helped topple an evil empire.
Yet it’s a fateful rendezvous on Coruscant, at the explosive height of the Republic/Separatist uprising, that launches Han, Leia, Allana and C-3PO on a galaxy-wide cat-and-mouse game. For crime lords, galactic pirates, rogue politicians and fortune hunters loom at every turn—each with his or her own desperate stake in the Falcon’s mission—as they race through the years and across the stars to a final standoff for a prize some will pay any cost to possess.

I enjoyed the setup of the story and got excited that it would come to an awesome conclusion, but I found when all the plotlines came together the tension and excitement disappered. I was not satisfied with the ending. I would be more specific, but I do not want to spoil the book for anyone who might want to read it. If you like the Star Wars universe, you will probably like this anyway. However, if you like a great read, look to another book in the genre. This is not a great novel.

I have been a Star Wars fan for 30 of my 36 years on this planet. It was good to learn about the past of one of the "characters" of the series. Any Star Wars fan will agree that the Millenium Falcon is a major character. It was well written, as I have found all of James Luceno's books. Definitely worth the read for any Star Wars fan, or any James Luceno fan

This book was simply awesome and I always wanted to know the history of the Millennium Falcon. And it seems that Jacens daughter would make a powerful jedi if she were to be properly trained.
I wouldn't mind reading more novels like this one. And what's great abnout this book is that it leades right into the next major storyline: Fate Of The Jedi and so looking forward to that.

I opened this book & read straight through from start to finish! A good telling of the history of possibly the most famous ship in Star Wars!
