I actually have read The Atrocity Archive, so I'm actually looking forward to buying this collection to get a hold of The Jennifer Morgue and Pimpf to see what else Bob gets up to...although a great deal of the jargon that comprises Stross's world is virtually impenetrable by those not as knowledgeable in British government and IT practices, I found the basic stories pretty inventive and a decent read.

COULDN'T STAY AWAKE
January 25, 2009

I DID NOT AT ALL ENJOY THIS BOOK. IT WAS SO BORING I KEPT FALLING ASLEEP. USUALLY I CAN ALWAYS FINISH A BOOK, EVEN A SO-SO ONE BUT I BARELY GOT THROUGH THE FIRST 1/3 OF THE BOOK BEFORE GIVING UP. THE PLOT WAS CONVOLUTED AND CONFUSING AND THE CHARACTERS HAD NOT LIFE TO THEM.

Uninteresting
November 18, 2008

I rarely NOT finish a book but I gave up on it half way through. I'm a huge fan of horror, fantasy and drama. This book had little to offer me in any of those areas. I actually found it tedious.

Very good read

There are some very BIG words that had me thinking they must be real! So good is the humor I laughed for days. I would (and have) share this book with any who like a good laugh.
