Anita Blake, vampire hunter, thought she’d seen it all. But that was before a fifteen-year-old girl’s abduction leads this sexy, seasoned, psychic U.S. Marshal to a frightening new breed of vampire: the mundane kind.
They are—or were—everyday people: soccer moms, grandparents, even kids. Unlike other vampires, they’d rather die than serve a Master. And they’re quite prepared to be martyred for the cause.
Anita believes that vampires belong on their Masters’ leash. And she realizes that even rogue vampires have monsters they’re afraid of—monsters like her....
Wildly popular urban fantasist Laurell K. Hamilton serves up the ultimate vampire culture clash in Kiss the Dead, the latest driving installment of the Anita Blake series!

Its was a very nice read but not like some of Laurell k's other Anita books. The plot was ok but it did not offer many twist and turns. The book in general could have been longer. Chicken is just chicken until someone adds a little spice /twist of their own to it..

While I want to see how it ends I just cant see buying the books new anymore. The main plot is gone and the men who should be helping are now the problem.I can deal with sex in a book but I cant take it when it becomes the main plot.Get back to the roots of the story.I get that in "real" life people change but if this was real life Anita would have lost a lot of friends/police/lovers/brides.

The premise of this novel sounded interesting. It's just too bad that it was quickly forgotten for poorly written sex, continual wangsting by Anita Blake, and plot holes so big you could drive a semi though.
