I am not sure about the book yet as I just ordered it, cannot rate it yet, but there is a movie version being made and set for release next year... I love Zombies, and somewhat like Jane's Books..

Ok, I hate Jane Austine and pretty much anything to do with the Victorian era of England. It's not my cup of tea so to speak because I find the stories written then quite boring and I dislike the fact that I have to decipher what is going on because I don't understand the culture and the art of speaking (and yes back then it WAS an art form!) from back in that era.
I love zombie stories. My dad got me this book to force me to read a classic and to expand my reading base a bit. I previously told him I refused to read it so as a bribe for Christmas I got a beautiful leather bound edition. The look on my face was priceless I'm pretty sure.
At first I wasn't sure where it was going, whether is was a retelling of Austin's story or the original with stuff added in. At first to my horror it was the latter, but I quickly overcame that. I liked this book quite a bit and recommend it for anyone who is wanting an interesting way to ease into more classic literature.
If you're a hardcore Austin fan you probably won't like it and will see it as an 'atrocity' of the original. If you are more open minded about such things though, you will definitely enjoy this book. In a nutshell I recommend it for those who want to step out of the ordinary read and see what potential could have come out of the original story. and yes, there are some ridiculous things in it, but hey, IT'S FICTION! Why read about the real world when you're trying to escape it while reading? Just enjoy the story and don't over analyze it to death is my suggestion. Happy reading!

Horror & Classic Literature can be fun

I love the Bronte sisters and horror novels so I read this. Very boring at first but got better! The zombies and martial art taught by Shaolin monks kept me from putting away this book completely. What prompted me to finish was the love story between Elizabeth and Darcy, it reminds me of my off & on again guy. It made me curious about the original Austen work, I might put aside Stephen King long enough to read it.

The title sounds so intriguing but the book itself is stupid. I found myself only reading it for the parts that were actually Jane Austen's work.
