The VanderMeers have outdone themselves with this massive, comprehensive anthology of weird stories. Probably the largest book of its kind. There are big names (Lovecraft, Moorcock, King, etc) as well as translated tales by authors who will be less familiar to English-reading audiences. Definitely worth investigating.

Not what it seems to be

Very small type, set in 2 columns per page, heavy to hold in hand. All the wordiness disguises the nature of the book, which is "speculative fiction" rather than Weird Tales continuations or anything making a chill somewhere in the body. Most of the authors seem to need a shrink (more so than usual creative types.) Off into the charitable donations bin.
