Gavin Guile is dying.
As the High Luxlord Prism—the most powerful mage in the world—Gavin can draft the magical forces of all the colors in the spectrum to his will. But that did not prevent his loyalist forces from falling to defeat at the hands of the murderous Color Prince. Nor can it stop the already brief lifespan of a Prism, a short five years, from growing even shorter: As his powers dim, Gavin realizes he has less than one year to live—if the old gods now being reborn and their unstoppable army of color wights don’t kill him first.
As Gavin leads his desperate refugees to safety, he realizes that hope may be found in his darkest secret: the long-lost brother whose freedom and life Gavin stole years ago. Will the woman Gavin loves expose his deception?
And what of Kip, the bastard son whose true parentage remains hidden? As he trains to become a warrior, he wields the Blinding Knife, a secret weapon capable of changing the course of the war. But for whose benefit will the blade strike?
Brent Weeks, superstar author of the Night Angel Trilogy, returns to the light in The Blinding Knife, book two of the Lightbringer Trilogy—a sharp, stunning example of epic fantasy at its best.

Brent Weeks does great work. Characters are great.
Terrific read, but it also suffers from middle book syndrome. Just hoping there is not a two year gap before the finale.
