Challenged to help free the oppressed orcs of another world, Captain Stryke and the Wolverines left their homeworld and traveled to Acurial by means of five trans-dimensional artifacts. But those magical “stars” were lost, presumably to the evil sorceress, Jennesta, and now, in Stan Nicholls’ Orcs: Army of Shadows, the Wolverines face the prospect that they may never get home again.
Hailed as liberators, the Wolverines join the rebels’ plot to rile the human occupiers, hoping that greater repression may revive the docile orcs’ martial spirit. I really like this series, very interesting to view things from the Orc point of view. My only complaint is the books are too short, really don't want the action to end.

I love this series. This book was a lot shorter and it left me wanting more answers to all of the questions that Sparks creates during this part of the series. Really fast paced like the others, just needed some more development. I can't wait for the next part of the series.

As an avid Dungeons and Dragons player and running an Orc character myself I just love these guys. This book, and others in the series, shows the spirit and will of this warlike but noble race.
Stryke and the Wolverines are the greatest warband toever set foot on a battlefield! Can't wait for the next one.
