Mr. Martin is an excellent story teller.
I love his stories, but after the "Dance with Dragons" book, I do not think I will buy another.
His narrations are excellent, but his books do not have a beginning-middle-ending.
He continues creating new characters, and I do not see, after 5 books, any ending in sight.

As far as the quality of the writing I have no complaints; speaking of the series in general, I was absolutely captivated from the get go. I don't read anything except SciFi, Fantasy and the kind of horror Stevn King writes so I always have high expectations. In this series' case, I was very much deflated by how Martin allowed what is by me perceived as 'evil' and 'injustice' to win over and over again, until in this last chapter - thin, lacking as it is, it seems there is nowhere left to go, unless John somehow avenges his father... and the rest of the family. I am looking forward to some kind of ending, or at least continuation, and I am definitely looking forward to get some satisfaction in regards to the various villains in this plot - and yes, I was very happy about the ones that did get theirs. Hopefully, the new HBO series will give Martin the push and inspiration he's been wanting.

... and the weakest half to boot. I had trouble finishing this one. I think he would have been better off taking the original full story and editing out the weaker plots and secondary story lines.

Couldn't believe how short the book was. Really seemed disjointed. Hated how he left out most of the main characters. I loved the series up until this book and normally wouldn't recommend Crows to anyone, but it is obviously a must read if anyone wants to finish the series. Ugh. The final book had better be absolutely unbelievable to make up for this one.
