A Must

The team of Locke and Jean will be a sustaining classic until the end of the world. I hope that they never "retire". My kingdom for more.

An Excellent 2nd Book of the Series
October 14, 2007

An excellent continuation of the original storyline. This could very well have been a second half of the first book, the way it seamlessly picks up the story. While it references events in the first book (without the proverbial dead horse-beating), it doesn't attempt to be a story you should fully comprehend without reading the first of the series. The main characters are vibrantly well developed, continue to evolve in a very real and believable fashion, and they stick in your head after you've put the book down. I've heard a rumor that the movie rights have already been bought, and the story being told from the third person perspective should make the script end up being very true to the books storyline. I devoured the first two books, and can't wait for the rest of the series (and maybe movie!). I wish all 6 books had been released at once, or at least all in one year....waiting for the rest is going to be a real drag. It looks like it might be one book a year.

Fantastic

Great character studies, with intrigues and fun in an interesting world setting. Even better than the original book.
